U.S. Stock Futures Point Slightly HigherU.S. stock futures are trading slightly higher after yesterdays big sell off. There is a slew of economic data coming out this morning with May wholesale prices, housing starts, and industrial production.

Oil Futures Up In Volatile TradingCrude oil futures rose Tuesday as the U.S dollar dropped. Crude rose to as high as $72.20 and fell as low as $69.90 a barrel. After a big run up on Monday the U.S dollar fell 1.7% against the Japanese Yen.

Best Buy Profit Drops 15%Best Buy said its first quarter profit fell 15 percent as same store sales declined 6 percent. Profit was $153 million or 36 cents a share. That compares with $179 million or 43 cents a year ago.

Housing Starts Jump 17.2%New U.S. housing starts and permits rebounded in May from record lows. The Commerce Department said housing starts jumped 17.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 532,000 units from April's revised 454,000 units. Analysts polled had expected an annual rate of 490,000 for May.

Oil Above $72Crude oil futures rose above $72 a barrel on Tuesday, as a weak U.S. dollar and encouraging economic data encouraged buyers in the energy market. Crude for July delivery gained $1.56 to $72.18 a barrel. Earlier in the session crude rose as high as $72.70 and fell as low as $69.90 a barrel.

Industrial Production Falls 1.1% In MayU.S. industrial production fell 1.1% in May, led by big drops in motor vehicles, mining and high technology products. The decrease was worse than expected. Output is down 13.4% in the past year the largest year over year decline since 1946. Output has fallen in 16 of the last 17 months since the recession began in December 2007.
