GE Declares Quarterly DividendGeneral Electric's board authorized a quarterly dividend of 10 cents unchanged form the previous quarter. The dividend will be paid July 27 to shareholders of record at the close of business on June 22nd.

NYSE Computer Problems Halts Trading In Hundreds Of StocksTrading on the New York Stock Exchange was briefly halted because of a computer glitch on Friday. The halted trading was due to a server problem and affected over 200 stocks. According to the NYSE the problem is fixed and all stocks are trading.

Oil Down To $71Oil prices slipped to near $71 a barrel after a multi day runup. Benchmark crude for July delivery fell $1.60 to $71.08 a barrel. Investors were taking profits after yesterdays runup to $72.68 its highest price since October.

May Foreclosures 3rd Highest Month On RecordForeclosure filings fell 6% in May from April, but rose 18% from May 2008. Foreclosure filings, default notices, auctions were reported at 321,500 properties in the month. May wasthe third straight month in which filings exceeded 300,000. One of every 398 U.S. housing units was subject to a foreclosure filing in the month.

Jobless Claims Show Surprise DropThe number of workers filing new claims for jobless benefite fell more than expected last week. Intial claims for unemployment benefits fell 24,000 to a seasonally adjusted 601,000 in the week ended June 6. Analysts were expecting claims to drop  to 615,000.
