XOM Gaps Lower Only To Surge To The Upside Taking The Markets With It
Note that XOM is pushing hard, but GS is near the lows. In this "fair market", either XOM is pushing to keep the market afloat while GS drops or if XOM stalls, GS will get a buy program.  Whatever it takes is the mentality of those controlling the markets.  No coincidence.

After Running On XOM And Oil Into The 10am ET Consumer Confidence Number...Markets Drop

After Running On XOM And Oil Into The 10am ET Consumer Confidence Number...Markets DropThe consumer confidence numbers seemed to shock the market.  They came in almost 3 points lower in July than the number in June.  That is an impressive drop considering how bullish the marketh as been of late.  This may be showing the consumer is not ready to spend their entire paycheck again as many in the Government, Treasury and Federal Reserve are hoping.  While earnings have been solid, revenue has been horrid with most companies missing.  This tells us that the only reason earnings are beating is due to cost cutting, not growth.  In the next couple quarters, that will become very problematic.  While oil is lower, XOM is lower and GS is down over 3, the markets are not down that much.  Could this be continued propping to keep things from falling apart?  Anything is possible.
