Hewlett Packard Earnings FallHewlett Packard said that earnings fell 17% in the second fiscal quarter as sales fell across all product lines mostly among PC's, servers, and printers. The company reported earnings of $1.7 billion or 70 cents a share for the quarter ended April 30 compared with earnings of $2.1 billionor 80 cents a share for the year ago period. Analysts were expecting earnings of 85 cents a share.

Lowes Beats EarningsLowes posted a lower quartely profit as consumers remain wary about buying home related goods. Net profit fell to $476 million or 32 cents a share down from $607 million or 41 cents a year ago. Analysts has expected earnings of 25 cents a share. The company riased its target for the second quarter and full year results.
