GDP Dumps 6.1% Showing A Much Weaker Economy...But Market Bounces Back InitiallyGDP numbers were ugly with a drop of 6.1%. However, consumer spending seems to have stabilized in the near term.  Some of the drop in GDP actually came from a lack of government spending which we know will pick up when the stimulus starts pumping.  All in all this number is not pretty but not as bad as the headline would make us think.  The futures were smoked at the release but since then have bounced back nicely.  Future still trading higher.  Watch the Federal Reserve FOMC Policy Statement at 2:15pm ET.
