Oil Goes Up In Flames As Commodities Sell HardOil dropped approx $4.50 today as investors dumped all commodities but gold.  Gold being picked off the lows as a fear index play.  Oil a no brainer according to the chief market strategists at InTheMoneyStocks.com who had been calling for a pullback to the $45 level for the last 2 weeks.  The big question is, where is their buy point on oil.  Join the Research Center and become one of the premium subscribers to find out.  Also, find out how they knew and mentioned SRS, SDS, QID, FAZ as all buys on Friday to their premium subscribers.

IBM Beats EPS Estimates, But The Report Is Slightly Weaker Than Wall Street Wanted

IBM Beats EPS Estimates, But The Report Is Slightly Weaker Than Wall Street WantedIBM reported EPS of $1.71 per share today which was ahead of the $1.66 earnings estimates.  However, as we always discuss, when a stock has run up so much over the last few weeks, EPS must blow out expectations to continue to keep the stock afloat and moving higher.  This has not happened with IBM and we see it trading slightly lower after hours.  TXN also reported earnings and is slightly higher after hours.

Monday Morning: Bank Of America (BAC) Earnings On TapBank of America is set to report earnings Monday morning prior to the markets open.  The market has priced in them beating estimates by a wide margin as the stock has jumped hundreds of percentage points from its lows.  The big question is, will they beat by a large enough amount to send the stock even higher.

CitiGroup (C) and General Electric (GE) Earnings Suprise Slightly To The Upside

CitiGroup (C) and General Electric (GE) Earnings Suprise Slightly To The Upside
C and GE surprised to the upside after reporting their results around 6:30am ET. Both stocks are seeing an initial runup pre market though whether or not it lasts is up in the air.  Futures activity is mixed.  Today is options expiration and needs to be watched very carefully.  Most of the volume will be in the morning session as options are taken care of.  Keep in mind that if volume gets very light later in the day, it could mean the markets float higher again.  That has been what we have seen of late and may continue.  Earnings will continue next week with Bank of America on Monday.

CitiGroup (C) and General Electric (GE) Now Dumping After Early Pre Market Runup

Posted by InTheMoneyStocks.com Thursday, April 16, 2009, 08:00PM ET

CitiGroup (C) and General Electric (GE) Now Dumping After Early Pre Market RunupC and GE have dumped to the negative to flat line after a massive runup early in pre market.  C had traded over $4.60 early but now trading in $3.90 range.  These bank stocks and financial stocks still remain very overbought near term.  C and GE both reported solid earnings beating estimates.  But, as we always say, the bar was raised by WFC, GS and JPM.  They really needed to blow the earnings away to continue higher.  It does not look like they blew them away enough to keep on jumping higher.  Still early, keep a close watch on these to see the direction of the market.  Google (GOOG) is trading down slightly as well after earnings.  This stock, along with the whole market has soared too high to fast it seems to keep up with earnings.  Watch for key signals on this options expiration day.
